Since its premiere, After the Death of an Entertainment Reporter has achieved strong viewership across multiple platforms, quickly becoming one of the most talked-about suspense dramas in recent years. Following last week’s thrilling finale, actor Lee Ming-Chung attended a media session today (5th) to share behind-the-scenes stories and his reflections on filming.

In the drama, Lee stars alongside veteran actress Ke Shuqin, playing a married couple. He admitted that Ke’s strong presence — both on and off camera — initially made him hesitant to approach her. “We’d worked together before, also as husband and wife,” he recalled, “but that time we only shared one scene, so we didn’t get to know each other well. It wasn’t until a few days into filming this project that we started chatting, and we only really became close near the end of shooting.”

As the finale aired, viewers flooded social media with comments such as “The dark side of the entertainment industry feels disturbingly real!” and “Lee Ming-Chung’s performance is explosive — every glance tells a story!” Many fans are already demanding a second season.

The production company Mirror Fiction has yet to confirm plans for a continuation, but both the cast and crew expressed gratitude for the widespread discussion and acclaim.

Lee’s character Liang Chen-Han — a ruthless businessman who colludes with politicians and kills without remorse — left a strong impression on audiences. Lee joked,“If someone threw eggs at me on the street, I’d probably thank them — it means they were really drawn into the story!”

He also shared his own ideas for a possible sequel:“If there’s another season, Liang Chen-Han would definitely find a way to get himself acquitted. He’s not the kind of man who gives up easily.”

Beyond the intense plot, unseen behind-the-scenes stories surprised even the press. Actor Mario — who portrayed the Chief Prosecutor — had a sleazy, villainous on-screen demeanor, but Lee revealed that off-camera he was calm and quiet.

As the event concluded, Lee laughed and said,“It’s funny — I killed a female reporter in the show, and now I’m surrounded by female reporters at this press event!”

As the series concluded, viewers took to social media with enthusiastic reactions such as “The dark side of the entertainment industry was portrayed too realistically!” and “Lee Ming-Chung’s performance was phenomenal—every glance carried emotion!” Many also called for a second season.

Neither Mirror Fiction nor the production team has confirmed whether a sequel is in development, but both the cast and crew expressed that they are deeply grateful and proud that the series has sparked such wide-ranging discussion and attention.
