The nominations for the 62nd Golden Horse Awards were officially announced today (Nov 1). The ceremony was hosted by Golden Horse Executive Committee CEO Wen Tien-Hsiang, along with red carpet hosts Yang Chien-Pei, Hsu Chun-Hao, and Peng Chien-You.
Nominees for Best Supporting Actress include Chen Hsueh-Chen (Lord of the Universe), Janet Hsieh (The Left-Handed Girl), Yeh Tzu-Chi (The Left-Handed Girl), Huang Pei-Chi (A Song for My Family), and Teng Tao (Extraordinary Girl).
Huang Pei-Chi, nominated for her performance in A Song for My Family, first captured attention with her impressive acting in the short film Sister, the predecessor to this feature. Now, the “family” from the film celebrates entering the Golden Horse Awards together.
Deeply moved by the nomination, Huang said:
“It’s truly touching that our whole ‘family’ is nominated for the Golden Horse Awards! I’m so grateful that A Song for My Family has been recognized. This project means more than just playing a character — it helped me rediscover the tenderness and meaning of what ‘family’ really is.
I want to thank director Pan Kuo-Yin for bringing us back to the Golden Horse stage after Sister, and to my family, my agency, and the audience — your support and connection gave this character life.”

Meanwhile, Chen Hsueh-Chen, nominated for Lord of the Universe, shared her emotions from the set in Indonesia:
“I was preparing for a shoot when the crew told me I’d been nominated — I burst into tears! Thank you to everyone from the Lord of the Universe team. It’s such a heartfelt, wonderful film, and every single person involved is incredibly talented — that’s why my performance could shine.
I’m so grateful to director Liao Ke-Fa for his trust over the years, and thankful to everyone who has recognized this film. I hope we can all win together — and that audiences will go to theaters to experience it.”
